City Island is a strange little part of The Bronx.  It is more forgotten fishing village than bustling borough, but a great stop to wait for currents when heading down the East River. And for our fellow sailors an extremely friendly and helpful Doyle Sails can be found here.   Stop and have a look at this forgotten section of NYC that has more seafood restaurants than people.  You can pick from Sammy’s, Tony’s, Johnny’s…you get the idea.
